Fishing!

I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED THIS TOY! And I finally got it! LOL! 7seas fishing has arrived to RiffRaff Paradise! I dunno about you all, but I love to fish in RL and SL. Despite living in the boondocks where there's actually some really GREAT fishing in RL, I never get out to do it. Then, my sissypoo and her SL hubby Dave got me into 7seas fishing, and damn, love it! Been "hooked" ever since *snickers at her own bad pun* and love to hang out and fish.

So, if ya ever are looking for a new place to do some fishing, feel free to hang out at Riff Raff Paradise to do it. Chance are that at some point or another, you'll catch me doing my own fishing there too. Feel free to join me ;)

APPARENTLY, I can add my own prizes to the server??? Once I figure that out, there may be some exgtra surprises to find there hehehehe. I'll post about that here if I ever manage to figure that out. Might also plan on a fun fishin' tail, hat, whatevver too. heheheh.

OH, and, when you're on the beach, be sure to check out the CanAmerica Weeks Photo Contest Entries board ;) Put up what we've got so far, and a collage of the grand prize winnings (remember, they're all transfer so even if it includes stuff you don't thinmk you'll WEAR, think ahead to Xmas and rezzdays and other events you might not need to shop for heheh).

One more fun thing to check out on the beach (well it's two, but I think of them together) is the sandcastle ... you can sit at it and build it, tear it down, and build it again. There's also a round mound of sand, which if you choose "sit," will bury you in it .. hee hee... i love finding fun toys!

Dun even know where to start ....

OK, well omg LOL. I've done so much behind-the-scenes kind of work over the last few days I don't even know where to start! LOL

First off, I can't even BELIEVE it's almost JULY???? Where the HELL did June go? OMG. Being a teacher in RL, my last day of work was yesterday, i looked at the calendar and almost peed my pants.

Well, with the end of June comes the end of two hunts that RGK has been in: SL Discovery -- SL's biggest gridwide hunt it its history -- and the Make Him Over Hunt, SL's first-ever men's items only hunt. It has been AWESOME to be involved in those and I feel so honored to have been a part of it. People in both those hunts have been wonderful and I've gotten a couple of out-of-the-blue Thank You notecards, which was really sweet.

Soooo, on July 1st, RGK will be part of the "Curious Kitty Hunt" (CKH) -- which is being dubbed as a hunt that you don't have to be a neko to participate in, but you might end up being one by the time you're done with it! If you haven't already, take a look at their blog for their list of participating shops. I think you'll like what you see there. Stay tuned for the start point!


My hunt gift for the CKH, which I actually -- and amazingly -- finished up a few days ago is pictured here. It's a unisex belled collar that rings when you walk! I had one hell of a time finding a bell sound that didn't annoy the crap out of me, and played with the volume and all that in the script so I ended up with a product that I think EVERYONE -- neko and non-neko, male and female -- can enjoy. As always, the collar has many other features including:

* Having 16 total textures loaded into it. There's everything from girly pinks to manly blacks and browns. Take your pick to suit your style or your mood!
*Resizeable by menu.
*My trademark "Locket Feature" which is right above the bell, a round pendant area where you can drop in a texture of your choice! Just be sure to follow the instructions ;)

Buried under THAT is my new release! LOL This set of tail and ears was a brainchild from my exciting find of a full-perm bar set! OMG I was like a kid in a candy store when I found that! I was going to make it menu-driven to dispense drinks but ... decided that was too much. Dunno. I might play some more with that idea at a later date.


But here it is, my "Travel Bar" tail and ears set :)) Dunno if everyone knows what a travel bar is, but in the 1920s and 30s or so, these were all the rage. Little suitcase like boxes (or lunchboxes I guess hahah) carried shakers, bottles of liquors, strainers etc. so that one could enjoy a refreshing cocktail on the road :P Not at ALL embarassed to say I collect these in RL, so having one in SL as a tail only makes perfect sense to me. You can see the tai is already equipped with a fully mixed Cosmopolitan, AND is loaded up with a whole new set of RGK-created chat options ;) Visit the mainstore location to get a notecard that will show you what it all says heheheh.

FINALLY (for this post anyway, I have even MORE stuff to blog about later muahahaha) you'll notice a new sign by the landing area at Riff Raff Paradise Nouveau. It is a "DSN Kiosk" -- "DSN" being short for "Designer Showcase Network". I've been subscribed to this network for a while as a subscriber, and JUST got myself listed as a designer.


What it basically is, is a "Subscribe-O-Matic" style notice-receiving device. As a subscriber, you click the kiosk and choose various categories from which to receive notices (Men's Accessories, Skins, Women's Accessories, skins, clothing, jewelry etc.) Then, once a day (seems to get sent out all at the same time, around midnight SL-time-ish), you get items sent to you for you to sample. Some are demos, but most are some really great free samples of things like shapes, skins, clothing, hair accessories, and more. I've found some AMAZING designers this way and um ... (admitting to my shop-aholicness here) ... got some really cool shopping done because of it.

SO, when you see that there, THAT'S what that kiosk is. Hit it up! I'll be sending samples through there occasionally, and you won't regret it.

CanAmerica Photo Contest and stuff ...

Ok, so the three of us are really geeked up about the CanAmerica Photo Contest hehehehe. Most who are reading this I assume are already in the group. But fot those who aren't, I'll give you the short version of what the contest is:

You take a pic of yourself, you and your friends etc. showing Canadianness or Americanness ... July 1st and July 4th are Canada Day and Independence Day respectively, so we thought we'd combine the two events in a fun photo contest. I, myself, am pretty much both ... so if I were to do a pic, I'd somehow mash the two things together (drink a Budweiser, eat a loaded chili dog while screaming "Ya hoser, eh?" or something like that). You all can come up with your own thing ;) The contest is open to all, the point is to help us celebrate these holidays in a light-hearted, fun, creative photo.

The IMPORTANT thing I want to point out is that this is NOT one of those photo contests where you TP your friends in and have them pay to vote for you! I HATE THOSE CONTESTS, omg sorry, but I do. They have NOTHING to do with creativity or ANYTHING, and we wanted this one to be a contest where people got to have some fun and actually use their creatitivity, not their popularity to win. The judges will be the owners of Alpha-Delta, Rebel Fairey and RGK ;)

We also announced the grand prizes in our various groups, but here's the pics of all the prizes that will be awarded to the ONE grand prize winner of the contest! The deadline is 11 p.m. on July 4th, and we will announce the winners on July 5th. The total worth of all the prizes below is about 3,000L, and we've each tried our best to strike a balance between men's and women's items. Everything will be transferable so that anything you can't use, you are always able to send as gifts (think of all those rez day parties you won't have to shop for any more!)

Cuz it gave me time to pay attention to a photo project I'd set aside during the move of the Main Store and getting out new releases and stuff LOL.


First of all, I was really excited to have a good reason to FINALLY get to be creative in PhotoShop again for something other than a product ad (not that I don't enjoy doing those, but the artsy stuff affords me some more freedom hehehe). The pic below is one that I took of my friend Thumper while we were working on her profile pic (which you can see here on my flckr site). While she was searching for the right look, and we were gabbing, she popped these horns on. They were too cool, I HAD to take some pics of her wearing them! They totally inspired that minimalist thing in me.

So, that's what I did today while I couldn't log in to SL LOL.

Once I was able to log back in, FINALLY released my newest choker, "High Maintenance" which I've made available in a silver and gold version. I've been making quite a few men's/unisex pieces lately, so kinda wanted to call back to my girly side a bit with this piece. Sculpty details include a mini bottle of nail polish, makeup brush, and a pendant that reads "High Maintenance" with little Amethyst hearts to dot the "i"s hehehehe. The leather band part of the choker is texture change by menu, and is LOADED UP with 14 texture options!


FINALLY, (OMG there's so much going on aaaa!) wanted to remind everyone of the Photo Contest we have going on right now. I will prolly blog about that seperately tomorrow so that it gets its own space and isn't getting lost at the bottom of this blog post hehehehe.

RGK's been blogged! And more on hunts! Yay!

Speaking of hunts, just a reminder that the SL Discovery Hunt is still on, and the MHOH is still going strong!

Once those are over on June 30th (just a few days from now, OMG Crazy!), RGK will be in the Curious Kitties Hunt, which is a hunt geared to Neko and Non-nekos alike. You'll find a sign with infos at the Main Store, and if you look in my profile, there's a group for you to join as well! Here's the link to their blog so you can see the list of participating stores. Even if you're not neko, I know you'll find some awesome stuffs, cuz those shops are coooool!!!

I would definitely have to say that the grand opening and Hamster Hunt have been a great success! We have NOT lacked for visitors to RGK's new home, and it's been great running in to some of you and chatting :))) Thank you ALL for coming by and making this event a really exciting one for us!

Other events -- not all of them hunts -- will be in the works as time goes on. As we speak, my brain is turning over the possibilities for upcoming Canada Day and Independence Day celebrations.

I have release a few new items in the meantime, and I realize I haven't put up pics of the gifts that I'm offering in the hunt. I will try to be back a little later to do that, and to show you what the new releases are.

Hoping to have yet another 2 release out sometime this week ... YES I'M ON FIRE! You guys all have me so excited hehehehehe.

Hunt Gifts! Round 1!!!

Here's a lil' preview of 8 of the 12 items that will be in the Hamster Hunt :)

The first bunch of pics is what Alpha-Delta Designs will have in the hunt that starts on Saturday at 12 a.m. (midnight):






These pieces are pretty self-explanatory. The quality of her work is impeccable and I know men and women alike will enjoy Vel's pieces to no end!

Below are pics of the pieces that my sissy Shayne Fairey, designer of Rebel Fairey, will have in her hunt. The photos that I've taken do no justice to the quality of her pieces either. Hers are all items that I know you will all enjoy!

Shayne will be offering up a set of skull earrings, an awesome lip ring, cute thumb ring and one of my fave pieces of hers, a metal dolphin choker!

Guest Vendors at the New Location!

Well I've promised that I would blog about the two guest vendors who will also be at RGK's new location. In the interest of full disclosure, both of these designers are very good friends without whom I probably wouldn't really be able to have done what I do.

They are both amazing women who are incredibly talented makers of jewelry and accessories. If I'm not wearing one of my own piercings or necklaces, I'm usually wearing one of theirs.

Velvety Avro is owner and creator of piercings and clothing for her business, Alpha-Delta designs. I can't think of an accessory Vel hasn't made. She's done lip, eyebrow, nose, nipple and belly piercings. She makes a great line of latex clothing (which are among the best I've seen, I have to say) and has a line of clothing called Dirty Girlz and Dirty Boyz which are also very detail-rich and meticulously put together. Her location at RGK's main store features mostly her piercings (which are "action-scripted" so you can emote with them), but you can find her other locations right in her picks under her profile.

Shayne Fairey is my friend of many years who I have grown to think of as my "Sissypoo." Please continue to read after you are done wretching. Ok. Now, she has some really great pieces that I know you will enjoy. She has started off with mostly women's accessories like belly and lip piercings, chokers, rings etc., but she has recently created a few pieces for the guys that has really been impressive! One of our guy friends mentioned to her that he was having a hard time finding a guy's bracelet that was guy-ish, so she pulled one together! And it turned out great. From there she whipped up a choker for men AND one for women. She's really tough on herself, but that's probably why her stuff looks as great as it does. She's not happy with what she makes until it's perfect -- and even then, it's not good enough to her. The mark of a real artist!

My descriptions of these two designers' wares really don't do them justice. The only way to realy see what they have to offer is for you to check them out yourselves.

Wow almost ready!

Sweeeet! I can't believe how quickly this has gone but, omg the new main store location is just about ready to go! Landscaping is done enough to really get things up and running in the next day or two! Including some pics here so you can see what it's looking like

All that really remains to be done is to set my own store up (ummm, the guest vendors are probably more prepared than I am at this point lol). Sooo, was just blogging here to show you all what it's looking like, and to let you all know that the new location will be open soon!
I'll blog about the guest vendors once I'm ready to announce the actual opening, AND i'll be also talking about some of the things there are for you to do at the new location too. Very excited as my plan to make my main store location as much a hangout space as a shopping location can finally come true! Yaaaay!!!

It's terrafor... I mean ... shaping up

OMG I HATE TERRAFORMING -- but it's fun at the same time. Here's RGK's new main-location-to-be as it is now ;) you get an idea of the setup. VERY excited about it still, i think the butterflies have taken up kickboxing though.

Planning on a couple guest designers there as well. I'll blog about them when things get a bit more settled and details are a little more worked out. Just like the old RGK main location, the 1/4 sim will also be devoted to just having a pretty, fun place to hang out.

Getting close and closer ... landscaping to come ... moving everythning over and getting set up to come ... letting everyone know of new LM to come ... giving some warning and "We've moved sign" to put up ... omg ....

OMG! OMG! OMG!

I'm having heart palpitations over this ... LOL. I still can't believe I did it, but I got a new 1/4 sim to put RGK's main store on. Really lame pic here but ... this represents MY FRESH START!

Soooo excited abou it ... giving myself 3 weeks to get it all set up and moved over. Where RGK is now, is approved for light commercial and, as many of you have undoubtedly noticed, is a "cave in the sky" LOL.

This new place is class 5 and approved for commercial AND can have a club ... omg the mind REELS. I have so many ideas that I'd wished I could bring to fruition but simply couldn't because I was so limited by where RGK Main Store is now. But, between the fact that RGK is growing, has lots of new customers (OMG thank you to all of you!) and the fact that it looks like I want RGK to be permanently in a hunt basically, it really only makes sense to do this. Found a place with awesome tier pricing, prim counts are exactly what I want. ... omg i'm TOTALLY RAMBLING but I'M SO EXCITED!

Will keep everyone posted, and obviously new LMs will be given out when the time comes and EEEEEEKKKK, keep checking here for updates on how things are going :P
